What caused the Gallipoli campaign?
The Gallipoli campaign was driven by Winston Churchill because of the rewards the Allies would get if they succeeded. Also the imperialism of the British powered them to make this decision. If the Allies broke through the Turkish, they would have the Dardanelles all to themselves. This would let them get to Istanbul. It would also let them be able to get Constantinople to invade it which will give them full access through to Turkey, one of Germany's allies. It also rewarded them with full access to transport supplies and goods through to Russia, one of Britain's allies (The Gallipoli Campaign, 2013).
