The British army were in full control of this campaign and planned for each of the attacks. Winston Churchill came up with this idea for the campaign though. The British went and tried to secure land down the peninsula while the other armies secured the more northern parts (Gallipoli, 2013). Because this campaign was a huge failure, many countries of course were angry at the British government and army at their decisions that costed armies thousands of lives. The British themselves had 34, 072 casualties after the battle. (Gallipoli Campaign, 2013)
